Today's grateful thought is easy. Thanks to all who served. I am very grateful to all my family and friends who took the call. My dad was stationed in Japan after they dropped the bomb. He was 18 years old and had been put on a ship to go invade Japan. He only really started to talk about it a couple years before he died. In Japan, he was an MP. He said that the older Japanese were respectful and were decent. But, from the sounds of things the younger soldiers seemed to get in a lot of fights with the younger Japanese. So, I am thinking my dad went a few rounds. He was always humbled when people came and thanked him for his service to the country.
